I started this project because I wanted to practice building a simple building, like the infamous gate-building of Auschwitz. Once I was done with the building, I added the train tracks, and doing so resulted in me wanting to add a train as well, and after that it all just gotten out of hand. The end result is a complete scene with several different animations that I haven’t even rendered yet. It takes too long on my computer cause my guess it that it will need at least a whole weekend to finish rendering. If you think all the characters look alike in these images, you are correct! The soldiers, the truck driver and the train driver all wear my incredibly good looking face. I learned quite a bit while building this. Most formerly how to create smoke, but also how to rotate wheels depending on their location and radius. This was also the first project where I really paid attention to minimize the model complexity and texture sizes in order to keep the file manageable and acceptable. Scroll all the way down for a video and my upload of the building to Sketchfab.
I uploaded the building from this scene to Sketchfab and there it’s free to download for everybody. I did have to downsize most of the textures since my upload limit per file is 100MB. Before downsizing it was over 250MB. But I’m still happy with the results.
I promise this will be the last animation that features a Tiger II tank. Or maybe not… We’ll see. Here’s a scene showing an abandoned Tiger II tank being re-claimed by mother nature. How would you rate this post? Click on a star to rate it! Submit Rating

The V1 was the first of the Vergeltungswaffen deployed for the terror bombing of London. It was developed at Peenemünde Army Research Center in 1939 by the Luftwaffe at the beginning of […]
This scene depicts a computer room as you would find in the 1960’s and 1970’s at companies who could afford it. The servers shown here are IBM mainframe computers. How would you rate this post? Click on a star to rate it! Submit Rating
